Prior to joining the Georgian Co-Investment Fund as a Managing Director, Mr. Menabde was a partner at M2 Capital Partners, a global multi-strategy fund focused on the metals and energy markets. Before this, he was a partner at the I2BF Fund Management Group, a global energy investment business. In October 2008, Mr. Menabde created and co-managed I2BF’s global Clean-Tech Energy Fund, the I2BF Technology Fund, in his role as Head of Equity Investments. Under his management, the I2BF Technology Fund was shortlisted for Best New Equities Product at the 2009 annual EuroHedge Awards and also won the award for the “Most Innovative Investment Product of the Year” at the 2010 annual Hedge Funds Review Awards. Mr. Menabde joined I2BF after working as a Portfolio Manager at Shell Asset Management Company, the asset management arm of Royal Dutch Shell PLC, where he was responsible for the creation and implementation of a diverse number of global quantitative and thematic investment strategies in excess of USD1bn exposure relating to energy and natural resources. Mr. Menabde holds an MSc in Energy, Trade and Finance from the Cass Business School, London, and an MSc in Finance and Strategic Management from the Copenhagen Business School, Denmark. He also holds a BSc in International Economics and Business Administration (ASB in Denmark / HKUST in China) in addition to his studying of International Political Economy at the London School of Economics, London.
